Frequently asked questions about coaching and organizing

Why should I work with you?

As one of the few Certified Organizer Coaches in New England, I am here to help you manage the emotional as well as the physical impact of clutter. Being disorganized is costly. It’s a major contributor to stress, hampers productivity, and wastes time and money. It can have a negative impact on your personal and professional life. My mission is to give you the peace of mind that comes from a clutter-free life.

I have extensive training and experience in working with people who are impacted by chronic disorganization, ADD and other brain-based conditions, as well as by major life transitions. You’ll find me non-judgmental and caring.

Together, we will explore your needs and values, your strengths, preferences and skills, to help identify what works best for you to achieve your vision. We will clarify your desires, assess your challenges and identify solutions.

As we clear away the clutter, I’ll show you ways to enhance your environment and improve your productivity. We’ll create a personalized system designed to help you get organized and stay that way.

At the same time, I’ll coach you around behaviors that will support you in reaching and maintaining your goals. You are investing in your future.

Will you make me throw things away?

What you keep is 100% your decision. If clutter is a big problem, you’ll likely choose to part with unneeded or unwanted items. I won’t make you get rid of anything, but will help you clarify your choices and guide you in your decision-making.

How long is a typical session?

For hands-on work, I recommend three-hour sessions. This gives us enough time to get things done without leaving you exhausted. We conclude each session with an overview of accomplishments and learning, and an outline of next steps. We’ll assemble trash and recycling, remove items or make them ready for donation.

How long will it take?

That depends on you, your requirements and how quickly you make decisions. I strive to maximize results in every session. As your accountability partner, we will design actions for you to take between sessions which can help move the process along.

Is our work together confidential?

I understand that living with clutter and disorder is extremely personal and often embarrassing. I keep our work together in the strictest of confidence.

How do I learn more?

Give me a call! The process of creating the space you want and keeping it that way begins with an initial no-obligation phone consultation. I’ll ask questions about your needs and you can ask me about my services and approach. Together, we’ll explore how I can best help you create space for your life.
